Business Donation Days

Donation Day Shorts Group 6.2.15Can you be our contact in another local business, school or group for future ‘ADS’ Donation Days?

What is it?

An ‘ADS’ Business Donation Day is an organised event for staff/pupils to bring in items normally donated to a charity shop to their place of work or school.

What is involved?

Project managed by a staff member and charity volunteer to organise collection date/site, send a few emails and internally advertise the event – that’s it!

Support is provided by us as well as email templates, display materials and volunteers on the Donation Day itself also transportation of donations from site to shop.

Why is it such a good idea?

  • A chance for your business or school to support our local community in a way that involves nothing more than a little time and space.
  • From our first Business Event a feedback survey was undertaken with 100% of donating responders finding an event at work more convenient than donating in the usual way.
  • On average only 2% of anything given to a charity shop ends up as landfill – textiles and books are recycled which creates additional revenue for the charity.
  • The money you raise stays LOCAL – ‘ADS’ supports People with Dementia, their Carers & Families in Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead, Slough & Langley (and all points in between).

‘ADS’ will keep you updated as to how much your group has raised and this money helps to support LOCAL People with Dementia, their Carers and Families.

  • Testimonials
My mother and I attended a ‘Mates with Plates’ lunch at the end of last year. It was here that we were inspired by the work of 'ADS' and the foundation and decided to do something more to help them support people with dementia and their carers. The generosity of the staff here at Shorts has been tremendous and I thank them in helping us support such a worthy cause. Jordan - The Shorts Group Ltd

I have recently received a letter from you informing me that my donations have raised some funds for the charity which I am delighted about. It is very refreshing to know what our donations help to raise. Jill from Maidenhead

Thank you for your letter confirming the claim you made for Gift Aid from the sale of my donation. I'm delighted this has been raised & I wish to donate it to the charity. Thank you for the work you do to support families such as mine who are affected by Alzheimer's. Matthew
